I am working with Daron Acemoglu and Nicolaj Muhlbach from MIT trying to understand the reason for, and implications of, the rising employment of older workers in the US. One aspect we are looking at it is whether jobs have become more “age friendly” e.g less physically demanding, less stressful, more flexible, more autonomy, etc.
We have developed an NLP algorithm that takes descriptions of various occupations and then produces a ranking of ‘age friendliness’. However, we want to see if this ranking is plausible so we are asking people to spend five minutes ranking occupations in terms of how they perceive them as being age friendly. We then compare these rankings with our algorithm to assess its plausibility.
If you can spare five minutes and are interested then please click here to fill out the survey. Your assistance would be much appreciated and if you are interested in receiving a copy of the results when the paper is finished please do let me know.
